A Mother Lost
Deandra Buchanan killed his stepfather and his aunt by shooting them in the chest at close range on Tuesday, November 7, 2000. He then turned the short-barrel shotgun on Angie Brown, the mother of two of his children, and shot her in the neck while she was holding the babies. When police found Angie on the sidewalk, she was still clutching then 2-year-old Dreisha and 6-month old Drejanay. Angie fought to hold on for three days. She died Friday, November 10. One year later, the children are in the care of Angie’s mother, Valarie Brown. At the age of 42, Val has become a full time mother again.
